Vintage Notes :
This highly collectable wine is “Saint Helena” in its purest form; 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the heart and soul of the 35 year old vines grown on the legendary Crocker Estate. Huge aromas of fresh violet, dark cherry and savory purple plum linger at the rim. Explosive layers of fresh blueberry, cassis, boysenberry and graphite are the leading flavors. Supple tannins and a mouthwatering acidity transition to a full and lingering black fruit finish. The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Stone Place’ strikes a rare harmonic chord of power and elegance. Delicious to drink now, it will definitely age gracefully over the next 20 years.
Reviews & Accolades :

Harvest Notes :
“Magnificent” and ‘viscerally thrilling”…
can certainly be used to describe Napa Valley’s finest Cabernet Sauvignons of the 2010 vintage. Although the final results yielded magic in a bottle for some, the growing season posed many challenges along the way. Beginning the season with subnormal temperatures and rain at flowering, the initial crop set 20% fewer berries. Ups and downs throughout summer helped establish thick skins which softened during the typical “Indian” summer finish to the season. The best wines of 2010 are vibrant in color, elegant in texture and loaded with character. We’re absolutely thrilled that you are among the first to acquire our 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Stone Place’.
2013 Sauvignon Blanc
100% Sauvignon Blanc
Appellation : St. Helena & Oak Knoll
Availability : Release Date, April 23rd, 2014
Winemaking Notes : The 2013 Sauvignon Blanc exemplifies Pam Starr’s ability to capture pure Napa Valley in a bottle. Alluring aromas of white peach, nectarine and fresh citrus blossom burst from the glass. The palate reveals a wonderfully textured wine with crisp acidity, wet stone minerality and ripe, juicy flavors of lime, guava, honeydew and peach. A lingering and refreshing finish, conjuring images of white flowers and another sip!
With its hedonistic quality, our Sauvignon Blanc is known to bring red wine drinkers back to the white wine table.
Vintage Notes : ‘Early’, ‘Excellent’ and ‘Even’ can very accurately describe the 2013 growing season. A warm, dry spring brought about an early bud break, promoting canopy vigor and healthy berry size. Reports of an August 1st harvest, one of the earliest on record, created a buzz of excitement throughout the Valley that continued fluently throughout October. Clusters saw an extended amount of hang time giving the grapes plenty of opportunity to develop rich flavors, resolved tannins and wonderful acidity to achieve perfect balance. The 2013 vintage saw slightly higher yields of textbook quality fruit. The harvest at Crocker & Starr was like the big rolling sea: waves of fruit perfectly synched to the completion of prior fermentations before the next wave of grapes rolled in.

Vintage Notes : The 2011 growing season can perhaps best be described as a true winemaker’s vintage. Countless untold stories of the trials and tribulation of what it took to achieve great wine in the coldest, wettest growing season in 30 years are quite possibly buried between the vines and rows. Today’s story of triumph is kept within each bottled wine. Noteworthy conditions of the 2011 growing season included: Thirty percent higher rainfall, a cool rainy spring, subnormal temperatures all summer long and the rainiest harvest in our memory. Our vineyard team rose to the challenge of hand picking and sorting individual clusters. With the efforts of our viticulturist Pete Richmond and our super star vineyard team, the Crocker & Starr harvest was picked in two days in what typically takes three weeks. In spite of all these challenges, we were extremely pleased with the quality of fruit harvested in 2011. The bottled result follows suit in a long and proud tradition of outstanding Cabernet Franc.

Sweet tobacco, grilled herbs, mint, plums and blackberries all meld together in a delineated, vibrant Cabernet Franc long on class and personality. The 2011 isn’t a huge wine, but it stands out for its energy, focus and pure drive. All the elements are in the right place.
