Charlie Crocker and Pam Starr’s commitment to sustainable farming techniques combined with cutting edge winemaking tools come together to combine the best of both old-world philosophy and new world fruit. Winemaker, Evyn Cameron continues the legacy of the estate’s Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec blend and Sauvignon Blanc to capture the essence of the extraordinary terroir of the vineyard.
Crocker & Starr’s third-ever Rosé is a tribute to our interns who work tirelessly each harvest. This project starts with their creativity and is meant to be a fun assignment for aspiring winemakers. A big thank you to Gabriela and Robin, who played a major role in creating this Rosé from our estate grapes. Winemaker, Evyn Cameron, captures the vintage and varieties true to our terroir in this elegantly handcrafted wine.
1 Post named after the street address where Charlie and Pam met, is our 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Block 1 from heritage clones: Jenkins, See, Bosche and Jackson each contribute distinctive flavor profiles and when blended together to capture depth and power. Extremely limited production and produced only in great vintages.
Founder Pam Starr and winemaker Evyn Cameron capture the diverse terrain of the Crocker vineyard blocks which are not dedicated to our exquisite estate wines. The blend is reminiscent of a typical Right Bank Bordeaux blend. This Appellation blend begins with Cabernet Franc from estate block 5 and 8 and is layered with Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec. This 2017 blend is enjoyable in its youth and will age gracefully over the next 15 years.
The 2016 RLC immediately jumps out of the glass with aromatics of wild black cherries, Tahitian vanilla bean, anise and sandalwood. Flavors of Bing cherry, savory dark chocolate finishing with supple tannins make this a great wine to drink right now, though it can easily age in the cellar for a decade or more.
A.V.A. stands for American Viticulture Area and for us, it represents the culmination of sustainable viticulture, resurrection of the 1870’s winery and classic winemaking. The bouquet on the front of the label ties into our rich history as it and Charlie’s 1870’s Victorian home originate from a Sears & Roebuck catalog. Out A.V.A. Napa Valley blend of Sauvignon Blanc serves as the perfect introduction to the Crocker & Starr portfolio.
Founder Pam Starr and Winemaker Evyn Cameron capture the diverse terrain of the Napa Valley within this elegantly handcrafted wine.
"This is a brilliant project putting together blends that are declassified from other wineries...These are impressively put together wines..." --The Wine Advocate
