In a few words, the 2015 harvest was high in quality, low in yields and early from beginning to end. A warm and dry winter prevailed into spring which lead to early bud break and bloom. Despite the persistent drought, we were able to collect 75% of the average annual rainfall in Napa. Cooler spring temperatures prolonged the flowering period causing somewhat uneven fruit set; ultimately foretelling much lower yields throughout the region. Harvest at Crocker & Starr began with the picking of our Sauvignon Blanc on August 15th and wrapped by early October. The 2015 harvest was one of the earliest on record and has received high praise from winemakers throughout the region including the C&S team.
